Every time I photograph a wedding at Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey, I’m reminded of what a special place it is. The barn has this incredible mix of rustic charm and elegance that gives it a warmth and character I haven’t found anywhere else. Walking inside, you’re surrounded by these massive oak beams and stone walls, and there’s something so timeless about the space that it feels both grand and welcoming at the same time.
One of the things I love most about Tithe Barn is how it adapts to each couple’s style. Some weddings are filled with greenery and candles, while others are more minimalist, with natural touches that make the space feel effortlessly beautiful. It’s a place that allows couples to really make it their own without losing that historic charm. You can see some stunning photos of the venue here
The grounds around Bolton Abbey are stunning too. There’s the River Wharfe nearby, the rolling hills, and, of course, the old abbey ruins, all of which make for incredible photo spots. Some of my favorite moments to capture are by the water or tucked into the forested areas, where the Yorkshire landscape really shines.
As a photographer, I feel lucky whenever I get to work at Tithe Barn. It’s a place that brings out genuine moments, and I love capturing the natural joy that happens here. If you’re planning a wedding in Yorkshire, Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey is a spot that brings together the best of the area’s history and beauty. For something different there is also east riddlesden hall – you can view a few photos here – East riddlesden hall is located around 25 minutes from the tithe barn and is quite similar all be it a tad smaller
