The magnificent land of Tibet is a wonder of nature and a place that every traveler aspires to visit. If you haven’t explored this place yet, you might want to include it in your China tours plans. This Tibet travel guide will give you some advice.

    Admire Wonderful Lake

Namtso, known as the “Lake of Heaven”, is a famous attraction on the Tibet tour. Its unique geographical location, located between Dangxiong County of Lhasa and Bango County of Nagchu City, brings tourists a unique journey to the plateau.

It not only has the world’s highest altitude of the magnificent lake, but also with its clear blue water and the surrounding snow-capped mountains constitute a beautiful picture. Strolling around the lake is like being in a fairy-tale wonderland. The distant snowy mountains, leisurely yaks, and the vast and blue lake under the snowy plateau are all marvelous.

    Visit Historic Sites

Potala Palace, as the landmark of Tibet, is not only the highest and most majestic palace in the world, but also one of the holy places of Tibetan Buddhism. It is built on the side of the mountains, and its appearance is magnificent. The interior hides numerous precious Buddha statues, murals and cultural relics such as scriptures, each of which displays distinctive Tibetan characteristics.

Tashilhunpo Monastery, as one of the most representative monasteries of the Nyingma School, carries a deep historical heritage and rich humanistic flavor. It is built according to the hillside, the staggered complex shows a majestic scene, while the architectural style of the temple is elegant and atmospheric.

    Taste Tibetan Cuisine

Tibetan butter tea, a traditional drink indispensable to the Tibetan people in their daily life, is known for its unique production process and taste. It combines the essence of ghee, brick tea, salt and water, which is filled with a rich milk and tea flavor.

Qingke beer is made from barley after careful fermentation and exudes a mellow aroma. In the traditional festivals of Tibet, it is always an indispensable wine. The Tibetan style hot pot is based on a broth carefully made from yak bones, supplemented with wild mushrooms and various vegetarian dishes.

    Cultural Exchange

Tibet is a land of deep culture where the Tibetan people have preserved their unique and rich traditions and customs. Stroll through the local villages and enjoy the traditional Tibetan dances and songs. Try to learn some Tibetan handicrafts such as thangka painting and hand weaving. In religious places such as temples, please keep quiet and respect local customs. Show respect by not photographing monks and temple interiors.

    Other Travel Tips

When you first arrive at the plateau, please stay rested and avoid excessive activities. It is recommended to take anti-plateau reaction medication. Tibet experiences intense ultraviolet radiation, so it’s advisable to wear sunglasses and sun hats for protection. Because of the big temperature difference between day and night in the plateau region, please pack adequate warm clothing.
